Sant Singh Ghagga, former DCC vice-president and a protégé of Jagmeet Singh Brar, said, "Captain Bhajao, Congress Bachao" (remove Captain, save Congress) campaign would be launched from March 16.

"Captain should have resigned on moral grounds after the defeat. As he is not doing so, thus, we have decided to launch a campaign in which grass-roots Congress workers will join at Choti Baradari to initiate campaign for his removal from PPCC president's post. It's the need of the hour to save the Congress in Punjab", he said.

Some other party leaders have called for introspection on the election results. Ved Parkash Gupta, former PPCC general secretary, demanded here on Wednesday that there was a need for the Congress high command to form a core group to go into the causes of poor showing by the Congress in state elections and analyse as to what went wrong that the party fared below expectations.
