Two days after a Class-12 student of Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 27, allegedly slapped his school teacher in an ‘inebriated’ state, his father on Saturday met the school principal and informed about his return.
The student’s father, Subodh Jha, said the school has falsely accused his son of being drunk as the medical report did not mention anything as such.
Jha said the principal told him about his son’s suspension from the school on Saturday only.
‘Boy’s family was out of reach’
School principal Sunita Singh said, “I told the boy’s father when he met us today that we indeed tried to inform him about his son’s suspension.”
She said that a peon was sent from the school to notify the family on Friday but their house was locked.
Meanwhile, director school education (DSE) Rubinderjit S Brar said the department was yet to receive the inquiry report made by the district education officer (DEO). “We will take an appropriate action after receiving the report,” he said.
The report is slated to be submitted to Brar next week.
In the inquiry conducted by the DEO’s office on Friday, it had emerged that the student was a habitual offender. The school had provided a detailed report to the DEO office about the past behaviour of the student which stated that the boy had on many occasions misbehaved with teachers.
