Reacting to Congress leader Navdeep Singh Goldy's joining the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), Congress leaders on Friday said that it is "a good riddance as his activities were suspected for a long time and he was acting as an Akali mole in the party".

They said that he was already under watch and was likely to be expelled in a day or two as his suspect activities had already been exposed.
In a joint statement, senior party leaders and MLAs including OP Soni and Sukhbinder Singh Sukh Sarkaria, Amritsar urban district president Rajiv Bhagat and rural president Gurjeet Singh Aujla, claimed that Goldy had vested interest in joining the SAD.
They claimed that his wife was a PCS officer and Goldy was negotiating a lucrative posting for her. Besides, they added, he had constructed an unauthorised hotel and wanted its approval from the government.
They said that his exit could not have come at a better time for the Congress as he was acting as an Akali mole and passing on all the information to the ruling alliance.
