Couple having meal by roadside crushed to death

A labour couple, having meal under a tree on the roadside, was crushed to death under a vehicle on the Abohar-Malout road in Abohar, a sub-division of Fazilka district.

As per information, Hans Raj, a native of Balluana village, Abohar, and his wife Surta were working in a field in the village. When they sat under a tree on the roadside to have their lunch, a car without a registration coming from the Abohar sideran over them and they were crushed to death on the spot. The car also hit a tree. However, occupants of the car fled from the site. The police are looking into the incident.
