Couple jumps to death in Bathinda power plant lake
A couple committed suicide by jumping in lake number 1 of Guru Nanak Dev thermal power plant here on Tuesday night. The deceased have been identified as Rajeev Kumar (22) and his wife Rekha (20), residents of Kheta Singh Basti in the city.

A couple committed suicide by jumping in lake number 1 of Guru Nanak Dev thermal power plant here on Tuesday night.
The deceased have been identified as Rajeev Kumar (22) and his wife Rekha (20), residents of Kheta Singh Basti in the city.
As per the police, they had an altercation over a monetary issue on Tuesday evening, following which Rajeev left home in a huff, saying he was going to commit suicide. Rekha followed him and both jumped in the lake around 10.30pm. Volunteers of the Sahara Jan Sewa and Naujwan Welfare Society fished the bodies out of the lake.
SHO Jeet Singh said the police had handed over the bodies to family members.
