Docs cancel strike call against attack on woman colleague

The district unit of Punjab Civil Medical Services Association (PCMSA) has cancelled the call of strike against the delay in arrest of main accused a former Zila Parishad (ZP) chairman for allegedly attacking a woman doctor on Bathinda-Rampura Phul Road.

The district unit of Punjab Civil Medical Services Association (PCMSA) has cancelled the call of strike against the delay in arrest of main accused a former Zila Parishad (ZP) chairman for allegedly attacking a woman doctor on Bathinda-Rampura Phul Road.

District president of association, Beant Singh Mann said that they have deferred the call of strike and will plan within next 2-3 days to carry on the agitation if main accused in arrested.

The police have arrested six persons for allegedly attacking a woman doctor Renuka Goel employed at civil hospital Rampura Phul on Friday night. She in complaint has alleged that former ZP chairman Bikramjit Singh along with others had attacked her and her driver while she was going to attend an emergency case in the hospital.

Bikarmjit and another accused are yet to be nabbed. PCMSA had announced to go strike from Tuesday onwards if main accused was not arrested.

SHO, cantonment police station, Mohan Lal said that police were searching for Bikramjit Singh and he will be arrested soon.
