FCI employee booked for forgery and cheating

The city police have registered a case against Ashok Kumar, an employee of the Food Corporation of India (FCI), for cheating and forgery on the complaint of the senior FCI officials seven months after a cheque book was allegedly stolen from the FCI office at Faridkot.

The city police have registered a case against Ashok Kumar, an employee of the Food Corporation of India (FCI), for cheating and forgery on the complaint of the senior FCI officials seven months after a cheque book was allegedly stolen from the FCI office at Faridkot.

Later, the FCI found that a cheque for Rs 12 lakh was encashed in the name of an outsider. The investigation was then handed over to the vigilance wing of the FCI.

During investigation, it was found that Ashok Kumar, an assistant grade accounts officer, had allegedly stolen the cheque book and one of the cheques was encashed in the name of his relative.

Later, Rs 12 lakh was returned to the FCI and the cheque book, which was allegedly stolen from the FCI office, was also recovered.
