To ensure better working environment for women, the Ferozepur administration has set up a creche for their children in the age group of 1-3 years at the district administrative complex.

“With the number of nuclear families on the rise, working women are facing several problems in bringing up their kids, especially infants. Recently, a delegation of working women raised the issue with me, following which we have established this creche,” said deputy commissioner (DC) Ramvir.

The DC said the creche has modern facilities, including air-conditioning, latest toys, drinking water, refrigerator and microwave oven besides other infrastructure for better ambience.

“Besides a nurse to look after the children, a doctor will visit the creche once a week for regular health checkup,” he said.

To be formally inaugurated shortly, the creche will remain functional from 8.30am to 5.30pm, with charges of Rs 1,000 per month.
