Five of a family, including an infant, were killed when a car they were travelling in rammed a roadside tree in Moga today, police said.

The incident took place on the Moga-Ferozepur road when the car driver lost control over the vehicle while travelling from Moga from Guruharsahai and it hit the tree, they said.

While two women in their mid 40s, a 21-day-old baby girl, and two boys aged one and 10 were killed, the injured driver was rushed to a nearby hospital, police said.

The victims were on way to Moga to attend a religious function of the family, they said.
