Fog effect: Railways cancels 20 trains from January
Apprehending foggy conditions, the railways has decided to cancelled 20 trains halting or starting from Chandigarh from January 1 to March 1, including the Kalka-New Delhi Shatabdi Express.

Officials at the Ambala division of the railways said the schedule would be effective for two months starting January.
Divisional railway manager, Ambala, Dinesh Kumar said: “The trains have been cancelled on particular days only to maintain smooth flow of rail traffic as many trains are delayed or cancelled due to fog in January and February.
The only parameter considered was the adjustment of trains to maintain the timetable as per the passengers’ con-covenience.”
FLIGHTS ALSO CANCELLED
The Airports Authority of India has already announced cancellation of a few flights from December 1 considering the foggy conditions ahead. SpiceJet’s Chandigarh-Delhi-Chandigarh,
Srinagar-Chandigarh-Delhi and Delhi-Chandigarh-Srinagar flights will remain cancelled on Sundays till March 26. Jet Connect’s Delhi-Chandigarh-Delhi flight will remain cancelled on all Tuesdays till March 26.
