Four men loot car, cash from NRI in Moga

Four unidentified robbers fled with a car, cash, currency and other valuable items looted from a non-resident Indian (NRI) in Kokri Heran village in Ajitwal town on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.

Four unidentified robbers fled with a car, cash, currency and other valuable items looted from a non-resident Indian (NRI) in Kokri Heran village in Ajitwal town on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.

Sukhdev Singh, of Kokri Heran village, currently residing in England, was here from last month and was alone at home when the incident took place.

In his FIR, Sukhdev said at around 2 am, when he was sleeping, four masked men barged into his home from the backyard, after jumping over the wall.

“They tied me to a chair and stole my car (Swift, PB 10 AL 0053), Rs 45000 cash, 500 pounds currency, a watch, a mobile, passport and a bank copy,” he said. ukhdev informed the police and a team from Ajitwal police station rushed to the spot for investigation.

Gurdeep Singh, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) cum investigation officer said that the robbers even took away the hard disk installed in a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera. A case has been registered under Section 342, 457 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Ajitwal police station, Moga.
