Freezing cold sweeps parts of Haryana & Punjab, mercury falls

Freezing cold today gripped many parts of Haryana and Punjab as temperatures dipped further, with Narnaul recording the lowest temperature in the two states at 2 degrees Celsius.

In Haryana, Narnaul reeled under biting cold, recording a low of 2 degrees Celsius, five notches below the normal level. Icy cold winds also swept Hisar in Haryana, where the minimum temperature settled at 3.4 degrees Celsius, which was five notches below normal.

Karnal, too, was in the grip of severe cold conditions at 4.2 degrees, down four degrees. Ambala’s low settled at 8.8 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature at Chandigarh also dipped further since yesterday to settle at 7.8 degrees Celsius.In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a low of 3.2 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal.

Ludhiana recorded a low of 4.6 degrees Celsius, down two degrees while Patiala registered 7.6 degrees.
