With just three weeks left for the re-conduct of the All India Pre-Medical and Pre-Dental Test (AIPMT), 2015, the special investigation team (SIT) of the Rohtak police is still clueless about the whereabouts of Roop Singh Dangi, the alleged mastermind of the question paper leak that caused the previous exam to be scrapped by the Supreme Court.

Dangi has a bounty of Rs 50,000 on his head.

Police said Dangi's arrest is crucial before the AIPMT is conducted again on July 25 as only he can reveal from where the question papers, leaked during the earlier test on May 3, were acquired.

"We have applied all efforts, but there is no information about Dangi. We want to arrest him before the exam so that we could access the people who helped him get the question paper," inspector Virender of the SIT told HT.

"Also, his arrest will boost the confidence of about 6.3 lakh students who have to appear in the exam again as they might be worried about sanctity of the exam till the arrest of the mastermind," he added.

Officials of the SIT said two separate teams have been making regular raids and all district headquarters are on a high alert to zero-in on Dangi.

ROHTAK IG TO GIVE SUGGESTION TO CBSE

Meanwhile, the inspector general of police (IGP), Rohtak Range, Shrikant Jadhav will be briefing the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE), which conducts the AIPMT, about security arrangements during the fresh examination.

"Yes, suggestions will be given to the CBSE as there is a need to tighten the security… installation of jammers at examination centre across the country is a must following the recent revelations of misuse of technology to pass on answer keys," Jadhav told HT.
