Hamirpur to soon have river rafting

In order to attract more tourists and fetch higher revenues, Himachal Pradesh government on Wednesday said that it would be starting river rafting in Hamirpur district.

In order to attract more tourists and fetch higher revenues, Himachal Pradesh government on Wednesday said that it would be starting river rafting in Hamirpur district.

As per notifications of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports, Manali, issued here, river rafting would be started on 16 km Nadaun (Hamirpur)-Dehra Bridge (Kangra) stretch on the Beas river.

Nadaun and Maha Kaleshwar Temple areas have been notified as the starting points, while Dehra as the finishing point. An official spokesman said that once the rafting was started, tourists would be attracted to the district.
