HSGMC senior vice-president Didar Singh Nalwi on Monday said that the sacking of Panj Pyaras was a clear indication of politicisation of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.

Accusing Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal of using religious institutes to meet their political goals, Nalwi said: “All important religious functions are led by the Panj Pyaras; treating them as mere employees of the SGPC has mocked Sikh traditions.”
