Haryana state selects athletics team for national games

Haryana State Athletics Association (HSAA) has selected 42 athletes, including 17 women, to represent the state in the 35th National Games to be held in Kerala from January 31 to February 14, said secretary of the association Raj Kumar here on Wednesday.

Asiad Gold Medalist in discuss throw Seema Punia (Sonepat) of Haryana Police would lead the Haryana contingent in the National Games.

Men

Dharambir, Nuzrat, Praween Kumar, Bijender Panghal, Lalit Mathur, Sachin Kumar, Rajiv, Manjeet, Sandeep, Vijay Singh, Ajay Kumar, Praween Kumar, Anuj, Inderjit Singh, Om Prakash, Arjun, Sachin, Lakhwinder Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Rajender Singh, Neerja Chopra, Surender Singh, Ankit Saini, Jai Bhagwan and Karan Rathi.

Women

Nirmala, Santosh Kumari, Shiksha Dagar, Sushma Devi, Anuj Rani, Sonu, Reena, Kaushlya, Renu, Seema Punia, Parmila, Sandeep Kumari, Reena Kumari, Jyoti, Poonam Devi, Kumari Sarmila and Pushpa.

SS Boora and Kuldeep Singh will be the team managers while Jitender Banger and Dilbag Singh will accompany the team as coaches.
