Health dept seizes medicines worth Rs 14,000

A health department team seized 7,200 unaccounted pills of habbit forming drugs at Gopal Medicos, Pindi Street, Ludhiana, during a raid on Monday.

A health department team seized 7,200 unaccounted pills of habbit forming drugs at Gopal Medicos, Pindi Street, Ludhiana, during a raid on Monday.

A team comprising drug inspectors: Sukhvir Chand, Balram Luthra, Navjot Kaur and Lajwinder Kumar raided Gopal medicos following a complaint.

Sukhvir Chand said, “We were instructed by the civil surgeon Dr Subhash Batta to raid the shop. Medicines worth Rs 14,000 were seized as the staff failed to show the record of the seized medicines.”

These pills will be sent to the state drug controller for further action.
