Depressed over his illness, an HIV-infected man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan at his house in Jamalpur on late Sunday night.
The 33-year-old man, a drug addict, was suffering from AIDS for the past few years.
On Sunday night, when his family members were sleeping, he went to his room and allegedly hanged himself.
His wife was the first to see him hanging and raised an alarm.
On being informed, Division Number 7 Police reached the spot and initiated investigation in the case.
Inspector Dalip Bedi, SHO, Division Number 7 police station, said the body had been handed over to the family after conducting autopsy.
