In a letter written to the mayor, the Congress councillors alleged that despite the provisions mentioned in the section 55 (2) of Municipal Corporation Act 1976 to hold house meeting every month, no meeting has been held in the past several months.

Opposition leader in the municipal corporation and Congress councillor Jagdish Raj alleged that he had tried several times to meet the mayor over the issue but he was not available in his office for many days.

On Thursday, when the opposiotion councillors went to the mayor’s office to submit a memorandum, Jyoti was not in the office.

Congress councillor Gurvinder Kaur pasted the letter on the office door and also handed over a copy of the memorandum to the mayor’s personal assistant.

After they showed the documents, the money was given back to them.
