Gangster Gounder posts Facebook check-in at Bangkok club, police not sure he’s abroad

Punjab’s most wanted gangster who escaped in the Nabha jailbreak last year, Harjinder Singh Bhullar, better known as Vicky Gounder, posted a Facebook ‘check-in’ at a Bangkok nightclub on Monday, conveying that he has managed to flee to Thailand. But the police said they had no such information and it could be a diversionary hoax. Read full story here

Capt Amarinder dials Sushma Swaraj, urges her to bring back Punjabis stuck in Iraq

Reacting to reports that the families of the Indian hostages, mostly from Punjab, were trying to locate their kin after the release of Mosul by Iraq from the ISIS forces, Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday called external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj and urged her to trace and facilitate their return. INLD protest on SYL issue begins, activists block some roads

Haryana’s main opposition Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) on Monday began its protest over the issue of the Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) canal by blocking roads, including in Ambala and Sirsa districts, disrupting movement of vehicles entering Haryana from Punjab. Read full story here

Four rape woman in Muktsar, make video and upload on WhatsApp

Police have booked Jagjeet Singh alias Ravi; Satnam Singh, Ramjeet Singh and Abhijeet Singh, all of Rkhala in Muktsar, for rape and under Sections of the Information Technology Act after they circulated the video of a woman they allegedly gangraped on Wednesday. Read full story here
