More than 30 unauthorised advertisement boards, including those of top brands, were removed while the store owners expressed ignorance about the new bylaws for outdoor advertisements. Recently, the MC had directed the removal of unauthorised advertisement from various shops and showrooms in the city.

As per new bylaws, a person can write the name of shop and address on the board but can't display the advertisement. Also the owner can't promote any brand by displaying advertisement boards without permission.

However, many of the shopkeepers and building owners have not only been displaying the name of shops, but also advertising some brand or the other.

Superintendent of Tehbazari wing, Jasdev Singh Sekhon, said,“Only one display board can be installed while no advertisement can be displayed without any permission.”
