Int’l day against drug abuse: Bathinda cops hold awareness rally

To commemorate International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit trafficking, the district police under the ongoing campaign ‘Ubharda Bathinda’ against drugs abuse organised an awareness rally here on Sunday.

To commemorate International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit trafficking, the district police under the ongoing campaign ‘Ubharda Bathinda’ against drugs abuse organised an awareness rally here on Sunday.

The cycle rally was flagged off from railway station parking, which included three groups including cycling, running and walking. People from different walks of life including students, representatives of non-government organizations and youth clubs took part in the rally.

Officers of the district administration and police department participated in this event as well. The rally passed through Sadhbahwna Chowk, Fire Brigade Chowk, Namdev Chowk , Bhatti road and reached at Multipurpose Stadium. The participants were carrying banners and placards and raised slogans against drug abuse in society. The participants finally gathered at Multipurpose Sports Stadium Bathinda, where they were addressed by various dignitaries. A special skit on drug menace was also performed at the occasion.

The rally concluded with prize distribution ceremony in which the holders of first five positions in each event were awarded with trophies.
