He was chairing a meeting with district officials and heads of the educational institutes to finalise the plans of making district tobacco free from August 15.

"From August 15, the district is being declared as tobacco free and in the first phase of actions, it was advised to install signboards in the campuses of educational institutes but certain private institutions have failed to implement these instructions," he said adding that after August 7 the institutions will face closure if they still fail to follow the instructions.
