The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Monday accused Aam Aadmi Party national convener and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal of running away from answering grave charges of corruption levelled against him by a former cabinet colleague.

In a statement, Akali leader and former minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said Kejriwal had unleashed his “cronies” to discredit Kapil Mishra, who till one day earlier was his “trusted friend”. “It is also shocking that the Delhi CM had different yardsticks for himself and others. When it comes to transgressions committed by his party leaders, he takes immediate action,” he said.
The SAD leader said the AAP chief had made a habit of defaming others and was facing a number of defamation cases. “Kejriwal has met his nemesis now and will have to resign as chief minister,” he added.
