Landslide in Solan kills Punjab resident, two injured

A Punjab resident died and two were injured when their car was buried in a landslide near the Solan bypass, 5 km from Solan town.

A Punjab resident died and two others were injured when their car got buried in a landslide near the Solan bypass, 5 km from Solan town.

They were travelling to Shimla in a taxi.

The injured, taxi driver Napinder Singh, has been shifted to Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla. Subash’s 8-year-old daughter Sanvi has been shifted to PGI, Chandigarh.

His wife Surjeet Kaur (38) and son Ishant (11) received minor injuries.

When the taxi reached Tapan Motors, at around 9am on Saturday, it got buried under a landslide. There has been heavy rain in the area in the last 24 hours.

Police and civil administration rushed to the spot . The bypass was blocked for over an hour.
