Acting on a complaint by a city resident, the department of local bodies has directed the municipal corporation (MC) to act against 15 illegal constructions going on in Zone C.

Acting on a complaint by a city resident, the department of local bodies has directed the municipal corporation (MC) to act against 15 illegal constructions going on in Zone C.

The department has directed the MC to send a report to the complainant after taking action against the illegal constructions.

Simratpal Kalsi had complained to the MC about illegal constructions in various areas of Zone C. However, the authorities ignored his complaints, he alleged.

Kalsi said, “I complained to the secretary and director of the local bodies department, as the MC officials ignored my complaints. Despite being provided all information, the building inspectors and assistant town planner failed to act.”

“The MC officials are hand in glove with the violators and help them evade action. I don’t understand why the MC is so soft on illegal constructions in the city,” he added.
