Assistant superintendent Parvinder Singh said after the last week’s incident, jail staff had intensified checking inside the prison. During checking, they recovered two mobile phones from their possession.
Pardeep hid the mobile phone in his pocket, while Ankit kept his in a flour container. Police will take the custody of Pardeep and Ankit from the court on a production warrant for questioning to know how they managed to get the mobile phones. Division 7 police registered a case under Section 52 A (1) of the Prison Act.
On March 8, four inmates allegedly stripped an undertrial and recorded the incident on their mobile phone camera. Soon after that, they uploaded the video clip on the social media to humiliate their rivals.
An inquiry was marked into the case. During the investigation, police found out that the inmates stripped and assaulted the man to please their gang leader who had allegedly asked them to teach him a lesson due to an old rivalry between the two.
