Sanjiv Sharma, 46, a resident of Shastri Nagar was arrested by division number 5 police in a well coordinated operation after a tip off. Station house officer of the police station Beant Juneja said, "There are at least nine different cases registered against the accused in different areas of the city."

He added that the court had declared him as a proclaimed offender in 2013 in an attempt to murder case. The police would now initiate proceedings to know the status of other cases against the accused.

Juneja said it has also been learnt that a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) case is also going on against the accused, "however the actual details of the case are not known".

The accused was not appearing in the attempt to murder case in the court after which he was declared proclaimed offender.
