A man was arrested with 52 kg poppy husk near Ladpur village of the district on Thursday following a routine inspection by Central intelligence Agency staff Sirhind.
A man was arrested with 52 kg poppy husk near Ladpur village of the district on Thursday following a routine inspection by Central intelligence Agency staff Sirhind.

The arrested has been identified as Baljeet Singh, a resident of Baghrian village of Sangrur district.

Sub-inspector Gurinder Pal Singh said during a routine inspection near Ladpur village, a car driver tried to reverse his car upon seeing the barricades. Suspecting foul play the police inspected the car and recovered 52.5 kg of poppy husk.
Gurinder added that the accused has been booked under sections 15, 61, 85 of the NDPS Act further investigation have been initiated.
