Married woman gang-raped in Dehlon, two booked

A 28-year-old married woman was gangraped by two people at Narangwal village of Dehlon in the wee hours of Friday. The accused have been identified as Suram and Ballu of Assi Kalan village, who have been booked on the complaint of the victim by the Dehlon police.

As per the police, victim's husband and other male members of the family were out of station.

As per the victim's statement to the police, she and her sister-in-law (wife of husband's brother) were sleeping at home and at around 2am the accused barged into the house. The accused gagged her mouth with a piece of cloth and raped her. Her screams for help woke up her sister-in-law, who was sleeping in the another room, and sge raised an alarm, following which the accused fled from the scene.

Sub-inspector Paramjit Singh said a case had been registered against the accused under sections 376 (rape) and 120 B (conspiracy) of the IPC.

Singh further added that accused were known to the family. The police have launched a manhunt to arrest the accused.
