The repeated recovery of explosives in the area has led to panic among the villagers. Earlier, the police had recovered a cache of explosives, including hand grenades, from the pond on June 4 and June 10.
The explosives were dis-covered by some labourers deployed by the village sarpanch, Harpreet Singh, to clean the village ponds. On being informed, police reached the spot and recovered 8 kg RDX, 793 cartridges of AK-47 rifle, three hand grenades, four magazines of AK-47 and 400 detonators.
Ludhiana (rural) SSP Ravcharan Singh Brar said the recovered explosives had been sent to forensic lab.
