Motorcyclist killed in head-on collision with SUV

A youth was killed when his motorcycle collided with the vehicle of SAD district president and zila parishad chairman Sarabjot Singh Sabi in Mukerian late Saturday.The deceased has been identified as Vipin Kumar who ran a shop in Kamahi Devi.

The police have registered a case under Section 304-A (culpable homicide not amounting to death) against the vehicle driver. The accident occurred around 9pm when Sabi was returning from Talwara in his Tata Innova (Pb 07 L 6005) after attending a function. It was a head-on collision. Sabi also sustained minor injuries. Sources said Sabi was trying to strike a compromise which he refuted.

"How can I deny the accident did not take place? My driver tried his best to save the youth but unfortunately he could not. The police have done their duty. Let the investigations take place,” said Sabi.
