'Mushaira' enthrals audience

The New Mehak Cultural Forum organised a "mushaira" here on Sunday evening at the Harpal Tiwana Academy of Performing Arts, where noted Urdu poets recited their poems.

The New Mehak Cultural Forum organised a "mushaira" here on Sunday evening at the Harpal Tiwana Academy of Performing Arts, where noted Urdu poets recited their poems.

Touching the topics of peace, harmony, love apart from the other day to day issues, the poets presented their creations before the audience, which was present in large number.

"Nahi deti ijazat jooth kehne ki khuddari, agar sach bolte hain mehfilon mein sar nahi rehta", read by Parminder Singh touched the hearts of many.

Jatinder Parvez, the youngest among Urdu poets, started the "mushaira" with his new couplets. After that Kaleem Kesar from Gorakhpur , Nasreen Naqash from Kashmir ,Mohammand Rafi from Malerkotla , Rejesh Reddy from Mumbai , Kaleem Samar from Aligarh presented their verses.

Anwar Jamal, advisor ,DD Urdu was given an "Award of Excellence". Naresh Raj highlighted the achievements of the forum.
