My husband, my biggest support
Shilpa Shetty can be safely referred to as the jack-of-all-trades, with her strong and vivid personality and her professional life, which has been packed with variety. There are already many feathers in her cap like modelling, acting, practising yoga, managing business, managing a cricket team and the latest addition to the list is jewellery designing.
Shetty was in Ludhiana on Saturday to launch her fifth jewellery showroom. Hubby Raj Kundra accompanied her.
Her journey in designing officially began barely three months ago with her first store in Mumbai and she is grateful to her husband who, she says, has supported her throughout.
"Believe me, my husband has always supported me and he certainly inspires me to keep my spirits high. One fine day, I just shared my passion for jewellery designing with him and soon he galvanised me to take up my passion professionally. Thanks to him I have been able to undertake designing tasks, which require a lot of creativity and attention," explains Shetty adding that jewellery has always enthralled her and for many years now, she has been designing her own jewellery.
Punjab is special
Like many, she looks up to the hospitality of Punjab and maintains that coming to Ludhiana was special. "My husband belongs to Punjab and my in-laws stay here. In other words, I am the bahu of the city (Ludhiana)," she says.
Asked about how she manages both home and work, she replied with a smile that it is all thanks to God's grace, strong inner voice and above all support from her husband. "Keeping work aside, I also ensure that I spend quality time with my little son who keeps me on my toes. It is my advice to all working women to find ample time to spend with their children. They should never be ignored," she adds.
