NAPA president Satnam Singh Chahal said: “If voting is done through e-mail, more than 4 million people settled abroad will be benefitted."
He said: “We have requested SY Quraishi, chief election commissioner of India, and he assured that he will look into the matter. Now, the parliamentary elections are approaching and this facility should be granted to the NRIs."
“The voting may be allowed through e-mail as is available to the members of armed and security agencies and the staff engaged on election duty or the overseas Indian diplomatic missions may be authorised to receive the ballots for onward submission to respective constituencies in India,” NAPA president Chahal demanded.
