Now, pay power, water bills through mobile application

City residents can now pay their water and electricity bills by just downloading an application — myChandigarh — on their android mobile phones.

City residents can now pay their water and electricity bills by just downloading an application — myChandigarh — on their android mobile phones. The UT department of information technology launched the application — city bus guide and e-payment mobile app — here on Thursday. The application was launched by UT adviser Vijay Dev.

The mobile application will have five features, including ePayment, mSampark, mRLA, city bus guide and e-campus.

The city bus guide has been developed CTU buses which will act as pocket guide to provide information related to bus routes, stops and timings. The e-payment app has been developed to make online payment of electricity and water bills. Residents will be charged RS 10 per transaction on internet banking, 0.75% on transactions up to Rs 2,000 and 1% for transaction above Rs 2,000 from debit card users, and 1% of the transaction amount from credit card users. A service tax of 14% would be charged on every transaction.
