“There are 46 villages which are waterlogged. Water is receding, but it can take 3-4 days if it did not rain again,” said Muktsar deputy commissioner Jaskarn Singh.

The DC said that 40,000 acres of cotton crop and 20,000 acres of paddy crop have been affected in the district. So far, 35 houses have been damaged due to waterlogging. Nearly 300 people have been living in camps in Muktsar, he added.
