Patiala land scam: 3 accused denied bail

A local court on Tuesday declined to give bail to three suspects in the Patiala land scam. Additional sessions judge NS Gill turned down the bail petition of the Yashpal Aggarwal, Devinder Sandhu and Jaswant Singh, who are in jail since the Punjab vigilance bureau arrested them.

Additional sessions judge NS Gill turned down the bail petition of the Yashpal Aggarwal, Devinder Sandhu and Jaswant Singh, who are in jail since the Punjab vigilance bureau arrested them.

Aggarwal (Sector 21), Sandhu (Sector 38-C); and Jaswant Singh (Sector 60-B), all from Chandigarh, were arrested from Rajpura in February and charged with selling and buying the government property, the sale deed of which showed it as private asset. The land, around 6,000 sqare yards, houses five government offices.

The local court already has dismissed the bail petition of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer and former deputy commissioner Vikas Garg in the case.
