Patiala: Two daily wagers crushed to death by JCB machine

Police said that according to the statements of the family members, the two were sleeping near the roadside outside their dwell around 9am.

The police added that complainant Kameshwar said that she had raised an alarm, but neither the JCB driver nor the two victims heard her hue and cry. The police also said that the machine was coming from the wrong side.

However, the driver managed to flee from the spot, leaving his vehicle at the accident scene.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered against driver Birbalinder Singh, a native of Ghagga village in Patiala district, under Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder).
