Addressing a meeting with bus operators, ADCP (traffic) Satvir Singh Atwal said after one week the police would take strict action.

The ADCP said, "According to law, no vehicle is allowed tinted windowpanes, but it has been learnt that buses are plying with tinted windowpanes and curtains."

The ADCP also said the traffic wing would take action against officers who put red or blue beacon on their private vehicles.

To cope up with the traffic problem in the city, Atwal said the traffic police had asked the companies pressed in to construct flyovers and widening of roads to speed up work.

The ADCP said they have asked the Soma Company to complete the flyover at Samrala Chowk as soon as possible. With the completion of flyover, almost 50% traffic problem of the city would be resolved.

He further mentioned that the police had chalked out a special diversion plan for Christmas. Police Control Room (PCR) motorcycle staff along with traffic cops would be present around the churches to manage traffic.

The ADCP said the police would also initiate special drive against illegal three-wheelers plying on the city roads.
