Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Lakhanpal said associate CLP member of the party Rajendra Rana would probably be the party's candidate for the Hamirpur seat.

“However, no one from the party's organisational unit was present at the press meet that was called to put a united face before the media in wake of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections,” claimed sources.

Lakhanpal said all areas of the district were getting equal treatment in the matter of development.

Rana said, “He will surely win if he is given the party ticket as he enjoys huge rapport with the people of
the district and, moreover, the Congress party will back him.”

Lakhanpal and Rana thanked the chief minister for opening a new revenue sub-division at Sujanpur and added it would help the area to develop fast.
