However, no loss life has been reported, so far.

Though the cause of fire is yet to be ascertained, locals say a short circuit could have caused it.

An official spokesman said one Kamla Devi, who was sleeping in the house, was saved by the villagers when they heard her alarm.

Tough, the fire was put out by the villagers, nothing could be saved and the woman had become houseless. Her husband works in a private firm at Punkaj.

Meanwhile, the Nadaun administration has sent a local patwari to provide immediate financial relief to the woman as per the relief manual.
