Protest against suspension of teachers at Sunet school
At least 150 teachers protested outside the deputy commissioner's office against the Punjab government for the suspension of two teachers and headmistress of Government High School, Sunet, here on Wednesday.
At least 150 teachers protested outside the deputy commissioner's office against the Punjab government for the suspension of two teachers and headmistress of Government High School, Sunet, here on Wednesday.
They said that those suspended were innocent and must be reinstated. They also raised slogans against the government and met the district education officer, secondary, Paramjit Kaur.
A teacher of the school, seeking anonymity, said, "It is sad that authorities decided to suspend teachers without the medical report."
He alleged that the minor girl had concocted a story of alleged rape and when her parents protested outside the school, the authorities, under pressure, suspended the teachers.
"Why didn't authorities waited for the medical report to come. It is sad that with no charges proved against him, the boy is in juvenile home for the last 18 days," said teachers
