Punjab’s wealth being squandered: Sucha Singh Chhotepur

Condemning the Punjab government for its spending Rs 32 crore on buying luxury vehicles for the VIPs, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said on Thursday here that the decision would burden the state exchequer when an intensive austerity measure was required to tide over the financial crisis.

Condemning the Punjab government for its spending Rs 32 crore on buying luxury vehicles for the VIPs, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said on Thursday here that the decision would burden the state exchequer when an intensive austerity measure was required to tide over the financial crisis.

“How can a state government that is unable to pay even the salaries to its staff afford a fleet of 14 Toyota Land Cruisers for just the chief minister and the deputy CM, besides nearly 100 Toyota Innova cars for the legislators? The Punjab government should come out with a white paper on state’s fiscal health,”said AAP state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur.
