Talking to Hindustan Times, Santokh Singh, said, "We have received directions from director public instructions (DPI), secondary, Balbir Singh Dhol to motivate the students to appear in the joint entrance exam. So a letter has been issued to school heads to motivate the students so that maximum participation can be ensured in the exam. Last year, 2,901 students from Ludhiana district had appeared in the JET and this time we expect more participation. The school heads are also directed to inform the students of Class 10 that the forms will be available for Rs 50. The forms will be available next week.
