Punjab VB chief tells officers to compile info on corrupt employees

Punjab Vigilance Bureau chief director BK Uppal on Wednesday asked his officers to compile information regarding corrupt public servants in all departments for appropriate action to be initiated against them. Uppal gave this instruction in a meeting of all SSPs, Vigilance Bureau Ranges, Flying Squad and Economic Offence Wing of SVB.

The VB chief director asked them to ensure that before finalising any report, they personally check all the documents so that no innocent public servant is harassed and no culprit is spared. “Pro-active and preventive corruption strategy should be adopted by the VB units. The bureau should confine to mandated job and bring professionalism and transparency,” he said. It was also stressed that any complaint or allegations of corruption against any official would not be tolerated.

VB director V Neeraja, IG AS Rai and IG, EOW, Shive Kumar Verma were also present in the meeting.
