Punjabi university holds syndicate meeting

Punjabi University syndicate meeting was held under the chairmanship of Jaspal Singh, vice-chancellor who took some important decisions, including approval of the memorandum of understanding signed with the Debre Berhan University, Ethopia, for academic research and cultural collaboration.

Punjabi University syndicate meeting was held under the chairmanship of Jaspal Singh, vice-chancellor who took some important decisions, including approval of the memorandum of understanding signed with the Debre Berhan University, Ethopia, for academic research and cultural collaboration.

Similarly, the syndicate also approved academic and faculty exchange programmes with the University of Highlands and Islands, Scotland.

The syndicate also approved the establishment of Gurmat online study centres in Garden State Sikh Association, New Jersey, Sikh Centre of the Gulf Coast Area, Houston, Gursikh Missionary Society, Grandprere (Canada) and Nanak Sadan Sikh Gurdwara and Community Centre, North Hills (United States of America).

In another decision, the syndicate approved the appointment of Gurnam Singh, head of Gurmat Sangeet department as chief editor, publisher and printer of the research journal to be started by the department for academic development of Gurmat Sangeet.

The extension of appointment of Jamsheed Ali Khan, dean college development council, by a year was also approved by the syndicate. Similarly, the extension by a year in the appointment of SS Khaira, professor, department of law as university legal advisor was also approved by syndicate members.
