Return cost of faulty handset, mobile firm told

The district consumer disputes redressal forum has ordered a mobile phone company, HTC India, Gurgaon, to return full amount of a purchased mobile to consumer besides paying Rs 5000 as compensation.

The district consumer disputes redressal forum has ordered a mobile phone company, HTC India, Gurgaon, to return full amount of a purchased mobile to consumer besides paying Rs 5000 as compensation. The mobile company had failed to provide appropriate handset to complainant Karan Monga (29) of Bathinda, who purchased a phone in November 2012.

As his new handset gave problem, he was given old handsets time and again. The complainant was also not satisfied with the handsets he replaced at a local dealer, following which he moved the consumer forum on September 27, 2013.
