Revenue team attacked, more than 20 booked

The Nakodar Sadar police have booked Harke Singh, a resident of Chak Kalan village, Paramjit Singh, a resident of Gurra village, and their 20 unidentified accomplices for attacking a revenue team.

Shankar police post in-charge assistant sub-inspector Sukhdev Singh said that a case had been registered against the suspects on a statement from patwari Thomas Masih . He told the police that the accused attacked him and his team members with sharp-edged weapons when they were demarcating land at Chania village for delivering possession on orders of a Jalandhar court.

A case under Sections 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functioning), 353 (assault to deter public servant from dischargeof his duties), 382 (theft after preparation made for causing death) 332(voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 427 (mischief) and 148,149 (rioting) of the IPC had been registered against the accused, Sukhdev Singh said.
