Rs 11.7 crore to be spent under BADP in Fazilka

Manjit Singh Brar, deputy commissioner, Fazilka, said that chief minister of Punjab Parkash Singh Badal and deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal had taken special initiatives to catalyse the development of this border area.
He said that, as per the programme, Rs 3.32 crore, Rs 5.13 crore and Rs 3.30 crore would be spent on development works in Fazilka, Jalalabad and Khuian Sarvar blocks respectively.
He said Rs 70 lakh would be spent on 65 projects to ensure 24-hour power supply to villages, Rs 4.46 crore on 34 projects of setting up and renovation of civil and veterinary hospitals, Rs 5.88 crore on roads and related infrastructure, and `71 lakh on ensuring safe drinking water supply to 15 villages.
He said that the Punjab government was laying stress on providing basic facilities like 24-hour power supply, better health facilities, roads and safe drinking water in border villages.
